ClearCast Studio

Remote podcast recording that a bad connection can’t ruin.

Each participant is recorded on their own machine at full quality and uploaded separately. The call carries the conversation; it never carries the take. If a guest’s browser crashes mid-episode, their audio is already on their disk.

How a session travels Four stages

The recording never goes through the call.

Most remote recording tools capture whatever survives the connection. ClearCast captures at the source and treats the upload as a separate, resumable problem — which is the only stage where a bad network costs you time rather than audio.

01 Capture

Camera and microphone are taken once, at source quality, and downscaled only for the live tiles everyone sees.

1080p video · 48 kHz audio
02 Local write

Every track is written to that participant’s own disk before anything is sent. A crash or a closed tab is recovered silently on the next page load.

IndexedDB · survives a crash
03 Chunked upload

Tracks upload in pieces alongside the call, independently of it. A drop pauses the queue; it does not damage the file.

Resumes after a drop
04 Mixdown

Tracks are aligned from clock-sync offsets, summed clip-safe, and mastered in two passes. Your original uploads are never re-encoded.

What is in it

The parts you actually use.

Studios and one-time guest links

Create a studio, send a link. Guests join in the browser with no account, no download and no install — the only surface a non-customer ever touches.

Crash recovery

An orphaned session is detected on the next page load and recovered without anyone being asked to do anything about it.

Automatic mastering

Clip-safe summing and two-pass EBU R128 loudness normalisation to −19 LUFS and −1.5 dBTP, delivered as a 192 kbps MP3 and a lossless FLAC master.

Studio Sound, optional

A per-track chain — high-pass, noise reduction, compression — applied in the mix graph. The pristine capture is kept untouched either way.

Quality control on every take

Uploaded tracks are checked automatically and flagged when they are silent, clipping, unexpectedly short, or full of gaps — before you sit down to edit.

Episode scheduling

Propose three to five slots, send guests a magic link, let them fill in a profile and vote. Booking happens automatically once there is an overlap, with an .ics attached to the confirmation.

Organisations

Invite a team, share studios and episodes, and manage access by role. Available on the Team plan.

Your files, plainly

Individual per-participant tracks on every plan, plus the auto-mix from Pro and stems on Team. Nothing is locked behind an export upsell.

What it does not do

Gaps, stated up front.

ClearCast is built around audio-first interview shows. If one of these is the reason you are shopping, it is better that you know now.

No transcription

There is no built-in transcript or subtitle generation. Take the tracks to whatever you already use.

No AI editing

No filler-word removal, no text-based editing, no automatic clip generation. The mix is a mix.

No mobile app

Recording is a desktop-browser job. A guest on a phone can join the conversation, but this is not the tool for recording from one.

Try it on a real episode.

The first 30 days of Base are free and do not ask for a card. If something breaks, the person who wrote it will answer you — usually the same day.
